Step 1: Defining Your Goals and Being Clear About What You Want To Accomplish Through Your Business (2 Weeks):

In weeks one and two you'll work to define your personal goals as a business owner and your business goals.

You'll be presented with a framework to structure your goals which will enable you to consistently create your goals and measure your progress as you work toward your goals.

You'll create three foundation documents for your business that are functional and grounded instead of theoretical and ignored. Your Mission Statement, Vision Statement, and Value Statement will be used in your business and marketing and they will reflect you and your beliefs.

You'll also create a back of the napkin business model to begin creating the marriage between your goals and your strategy.

The work in the first two weeks will guide the rest of the course as well as your business trajectory - this is your foundation.


Step 2: Building and Testing Your Strategy & Business Model (4 weeks):

In weeks three through six you will learn about and create the most powerful element in a business; your business model. You'll then take your business model and your goals and begin to craft your business strategy that will see you reach your goals.

You will learn the purpose of a business model and the definition of its nine component parts and how they build upon the foundation you established in Step 1.

Utilizing the template provided, you'll create a high level business model. Then you'll dive in and define the details that make the business model come to life.

When your model is complete, you'll learn how to identify and define the assumptions inherent in your model. These assumptions will be turned into hypotheses and tests designed to prove them.

Your tests will also provide you with loads of information on your customers, which will be an asset when you move into marketing.

Lastly, you'll make a final revision of your business model incorporating what you've learned in testing to make sure that you have a proven model that will deliver results.

This model and method can be used on products or services or across your entire business and will be a powerful tool for you to use in the future as you develop and release new products and services.


Step 3: Marketing and Growth (6 weeks):

In weeks seven through twelve the business model comes alive to reach your business goals.

The best business model in the world is useless without customers. The best business in the world that can't handle its load of customers is in trouble. You'll learn how to solve both problems in this step.

You'll receive a 20+ page marketing plan template to start with. This template will become the go-to document in your business as its designed to incorporate strategy, goals, gaps, measurement, budgeting, etc. along with the marketing initiatives. You'll also record your results here so that future marketing can build on past successes and you never reinvent the wheel. Your plan will tell you exactly what you should be doing and the results you should be seeing every step of the way.

Then you'll learn about setting up a scalable sales funnel and sales process that helps you take people through the stranger to prospect to customer to repeat customer cycle. If marketing is designed to bring in prospects, your sales process is designed to make the prospects customers and to stay in touch with them. I'll provide you with a fully functional sales funnel and process that you will customize to make your own.

You'll learn to research the correct key words for your business that will help you with online marketing. Normally online marketing companies will charge you at least $1,000 to do this, you'll learn how to do it yourself.

You'll then learn to optimize your website for your business, location, and key words to make it work with your marketing and sales funnel and attract qualified prospects to your business.

Now that you have your sales process and web site ready, you'll learn online marketing techniques to begin capturing more business. This will integrate with the blog that you'll learn to set up and link and you'll learn how to automate this process as well.

Then you'll be taken through the process of integrating Facebook into your marketing, from setting up a Fan Page through advertising. You'll also learn more about other social media services that can help you create a "buzz" about your business and offerings and keep you in front of your prospects and clients.

All of these techniques you'll learn to apply will work locally if you're a location-based firm as well as across the globe if you offer your services world wide.
