What attracts you to a given Facebook page? Likely the images, right?
Indeed, if you want to make your Facebook page stand out from the rest, high-quality images are key. With so many businesses utilizing Facebook as a means to promote their business, the quality of your images is critical. And no, we’re not talking about the resolution or other fancy camera-related terms.
We’re talking about staying within Facebook’s recommended dimensions when you post images, links or videos. It’s that simple. This seemingly small detail can actually mean the difference between uploading beautiful images or pixelated ones – images that will drive people away from your Facebook page (and your business!).
With that in mind, here are some dimensions to keep in mind – think of it as a Facebook Cheat Sheet.
The hallmarks of a Facebook page are the Facebook profile picture and accompanying cover photo. These two images typically will have something to do with your logo and your business’s brand, so it is important to pay close attention.
Facebook profile pictures should be 180x180px while cover photos should be sized at 828x315px. Images should be 1200x630px, links should be 1200x627px and videos should be 1200x675px. Businesses can also drive a lot of traffic to their business with a page post event, which should be sized at 1200x44px, with a 20% text limit. Event responses should be 1920x1080px while thumbnails should be 254x94px.
The following dimensions apply to posts and ads. Page post images should be 1200x900px with a 20% text limit. Page post links should be 1200x628px. Thumbnails for both of these should be 254x133px.
