Remarketing is surprisingly effective. The concept is simple:
Remarketing isn’t just about sales. It works equally well if you are trying to build an email list, grow your Facebook fan page likes, attract viewers to a webinar, etc. As with buying, many people won’t sign up for something free on the first visit either.
Remarketing makes Facebook ads effective and cheap
I use remarketing primarily through Facebook. Facebook lets me put a bit of code (cut and paste simple) on my web page or landing page. That code collects information on visitors, which Facebook uses to create a custom audience of people that have visited your sites.
Audiences are a list on Facebook you can use for ad targeting. These audiences are brilliant as they are YOUR audience that has shown interest by visiting your sites.
For remarketing, you can run an inexpensive Facebook ad with a similar messge to the page that audience members visitied. This ad reinforces the message from your site that they visited and people are more likely to act upon the ad than a normal ad.
Remaketing drives your cost of marketing down and increases the conversion rate for your pages. I love how it lets me continue building a relationship across sites and platforms and broadens my reach exponentially! I hope you take advantage of this wonderful growth hacking technique.
Capture information on a few and market to millions!
You can also create “look-alike” audiences, which are incredibly powerful for ads. To create a “look-alike” audience, you start with a audience you create with your site. Then, Facebook looks at the information and finds people across Facebook that have similar characteristics. It then creates a “look-alike” audience which is a blend of your original audience and the new people it found. I’ll cover “look-alike” audiences in another article.
