If you own a company you need to tell the world about it in as many ways as possible. You can do this using many mediums including the written word, face to face verbal communication, moving images and the spoken word in non face to face contact are all ways to communicate with others about your company and what you do. However, by far the most effective medium is the combination of moving images with the spoken word. In other words videos.
With a video you can tell the person story. A corporate video can tell people the story of your business or the story of how and why you developed your latest product or service. You can help people to see that you have something that they need or want.
Any video you make must be scripted, even a short video. You want to lead the person who sees that video along a path, usually to encourage them to buy from you or use your services.
To achieve a well scripted video takes a lot of time and experience. This means that you can really benefit from using a well-established and experienced firm to make your videos with you. Look for a firm that is willing to involve you in every part of the planning, filming and editing processes.
There are quite a few types of video you can have made. Which is right for you is, at least in part, dependant on the main purpose and aim of your video. If you want to introduce your company to the world a simple talking head shot video is fine. You are using the spoken word to tell people about your company. However, it is important that this video is not too long.
If you want to motivate people to buy from you testimonial videos probably work the best. Simple head shot videos from happy customers are very powerful for encouraging potential customers to trust you and buy from you. This kind of video is aimed at people who have already shown a degree of interest in your product.
The most complicated kind of video is a promotional video. This kind of video has to catch the initial attention of anyone who sees it, and, importantly, hold the attention of your target audience. You want people who are likely to buy from you to watch the entire video and be motivated to buy from you.

You hit the nail right on the head
Hey Justina,
Really cool post on ways to improve and really fine tune your corporate videos. It’s funny I’ve been using some of the same principles I’ve found here and elsewhere to execute some of my finance projects for school.
I am also contacting you because I work for a company by the name of Highly Relevant. We have a client, JLB Media, a corporate video production company and I was wondering if we could discuss placing a link with relevant info from your post to help your readers connect with our client.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Sam
